One day a father took his family, including his young son, on a trip to the country to show them how poor people can be. They spent a day and night at the farm of a poor family. When they got back from their trip the father asked his son, "How did you like the trip?"
"It was great, dad!"
"Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked.
"Oh, yes!" said the son.
"And what did you learn?"
The son answered, "I saw we only have one dog and they have four. We have a little pool and they have a big creek. We have to have lamps on the backyard; they get to use the stars. Our yard is small; their farm is big!"
The father didn't know what to say.
The son added, "Dad, thanks for showing me how poor we are!"
